North Baltimore receives $688,000 path grant; staff report on resurfacing, bridge and stormwater projects

Village staff reported a $688,000 TMACOG transportation alternatives grant for the SR 18 & Poe Road multi-use path (SFY 2030), updates on E. Broadway resurfacing (expected late November) and Water Street Bridge replacement (expected mid-September), and that stormwater project design is complete with grant pursuit planned for 2026–2027.
At the Sept. 9 meeting, the Village Administrator reported that a TMACOG transportation alternatives program award will provide $688,000 in State Fiscal Year 2030 for the SR 18 & Poe Road multi-use path project. Staff also said the majority of costs for school-traffic-signal work at Rudolph and E. Cherry will be covered by a Wood County Health Department grant.
Project updates included an anticipated late-November completion for the East Broadway resurfacing project and an expected mid-September completion for the Water Street Bridge replacement. Stormwater project design is complete; staff are reviewing documents with Colliers and actively seeking construction grant funding for 2026 or 2027. New computers are scheduled for setup on Sept. 19, and the village will transition cybersecurity from Trend Micro to Microsoft Defender at an approximate additional annual cost of $500.
Council member Eric Sweat asked that project updates be posted to the Village web page so residents can track progress. The meeting minutes do not attach project contracts, grant award letters or detailed schedules.
