Castine Selectboard approves warrants, hazard-mitigation resolution and schedules Jan. 29 special meeting

The Castine Selectboard at its Jan. 22 meeting approved routine fiscal warrants, adopted a county hazard-mitigation resolution and placed a Special Town Meeting warrant on the Jan. 29 agenda to address storm-damage funding.
General Fund Warrant: Chair Gordon MacArthur moved to approve the General Fund Warrant in the amount of $38,917.91, covering 15 vendors and items including storm damage, Fire Department vehicle repair and employee benefits. Roberta Boczkiewicz seconded; vote approved 3-0.
Water Department Warrant: Roberta Boczkiewicz moved to approve the Water Department Warrant for $1,483.36; Dan Leader seconded; vote approved 3-0.
Hancock County Hazard Mitigation Plan Resolution: Gordon introduced the annually updated resolution intended to coordinate municipalities in Hancock County to reduce disaster impacts. Roberta moved approval; Dan seconded; vote approved 3-0.
Special Town Meeting Warrant: The Selectboard read and approved the January 29, 2024 Special Town Meeting warrant so the Town can quickly authorize funding for storm-damage recovery; motion by Roberta Boczkiewicz, second by Dan Leader, approved 3-0.
The meeting concluded with additional discussion on separate agenda items and adjourned at 9:55 AM. Minutes were prepared by Finance Officer Karen Motycka.
