Austintown trustees advance $1.15 million to capital improvements, approve transfers and budget items

At its March 2 meeting, the Austintown Township Board of Trustees approved several fiscal measures including a large advance to the township's permanent improvement fund and a transfer for communications equipment.
By Resolution #26-03-02-08, moved by Trustee Bruce Shepas and seconded by Trustee Monica Deavers, the board approved an advance from the General Fund totaling $1,180,000: $30,000 to Zoning (fund 2181) and $1,150,000 to Permanent Improvement (fund 4301). The roll call vote was unanimous.
The board followed with Resolution #26-03-02-09, approving increases in temporary appropriations for Maintenance (6001) by $60,000, Fire (2111) by $325,000 and Permanent Improvements (4301) by $1,150,000. Resolution #26-03-02-10 approved a $69,362.50 transfer to Communications Equipment (4901). The motions passed on unanimous roll call votes.
Resolution #26-03-02-07 accepted February financial reports, including a payment listing with several items over $10,000: $14,375.13 to Morton Salt (road), $70,917.00 to Greenwood Chevrolet (road replacement truck), $82,181.56 to TSI (fire apparatus work), and $10,000.00 to Austintown Generational Enrichment (Westchester). The board also approved the 2026 budget for the Austintown-Boardman-Mahoning County Joint Communications District COG (Resolution #26-03-02-11).
