Afton council appoints Barbara Sessions to fill unexpired seat

The Afton Town Council appointed Barbara Sessions to fill the unexpired term of Jason Hoopes and Judge Rod Jensen administered the oath of office at the Sept. 12 meeting.
Mayor Joel Neuenschwander nominated Sessions and Council Member Jason C. Inskeep moved to appoint her; Council Member Rick Merritt seconded the motion and it carried. The council did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes beyond “motion carried.”
Sessions will serve until the next municipal election, at which point the seat will be on the ballot. The appointment took place during the council’s regular meeting at Afton Town Hall and was the first substantive action after the meeting was called to order.
No additional conditions or stipulations were recorded in the minutes regarding the appointment.
