The Sandown Heritage Commission reported progress on several outreach items during its May 7 meeting, including adding the town’s Red Barn to a UNH/antiquities state trail, confirming a New Hampshire Humanities presentation for Aug. 5, 2026, and addressing a technical issue with a recently uploaded Meeting House video.
Pamela Goodrow said John Porter of the UNH cooperative and the antiquities association will add the Red Barn as a stop on a state map and that the commission expects a small sign at the kiosk to mark the location. Goodrow also confirmed that a New Hampshire Humanities lecture, "Redcoats and Rebels in New Hampshire and the American Revolution" by Mary Adams, is booked for 7 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2026 at the town hall; the commission agreed to contribute $200 but had not yet finalized payment arrangements with the treasurer or the recipient.
On digital outreach, Goodrow described uploading a Meeting House video to YouTube and noted that the platform defaulted to a frozen frame; she said she will change the thumbnail to a town overview image once she has time or help. A committee member offered to assist with editing and title-frame selection after the meeting.
Members said the town kiosk’s QR code links visitors to the town website and discussed adding more historical content to the site to help newcomers and visitors find local historic resources and events.
