Tax Collector Ann Pierce updated the Dresden Select Board on tax-acquired accounts and repayment activity following a January 22 letter. Three property owners had responded: an owner on Gardiner Road is making $1,700 monthly payments to pay off by June; one owner at Indian Run is paying $40 per month; another owner paid $1,900 and plans to send another $2,000. Several other property owners have not responded.
Pierce said four mobile-home park accounts were noted; the park owner, Wiley Johnston, told the board he could address those accounts. The board asked for more information and additional outreach, including potentially sending another letter to those who have not responded.
Board members noted that unpaid amounts that are not resolved by June may also be charged for the upcoming year, increasing owners’ liabilities. Ann will continue to compile payment updates and provide details to the Select Board for follow-up.
Next step: Tax Collector will provide updated payment statuses and the Select Board will consider next steps for accounts that remain unresolved.
