Mayor reports flash flooding that briefly closed local bridges; ARDOT park work to continue through winter

Mayor Rose reported moderate flash flooding in Cherokee Village that temporarily made the bridge on Flathead Drive and the golf-course bridge on Cherokee Road impassable for a day. The mayor said bank-signature paperwork is in progress and should be completed by month end and that the city is working to disconnect electricity and remove the digital sign across from city hall. He also said Arkansas Department of Transportation officials told him they will work on the park throughout the winter with completion expected in spring; when the next project phase begins it will close Flathead Drive with access only through the Copper Feather parking lot while utilities remain relocated.
