Versailles officials report sanitary sewer overflow at King’s Command; Ohio EPA issues Notice of Violation

Francis said King’s Command had already called for sewage‑pumping trucks from MSI and began remediation; the company notified the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and both the Ohio EPA and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources inspected the site. Village plant operator Ryan Thien informed council that crews found foam and grease downstream to the 1919 railroad bridge.
The minutes state the Ohio EPA issued a Notice of Violation to King’s Command and instructed cleanup activities; the Village directed King’s Command to remove all grease and foam and to follow further Ohio EPA direction. The storm sewer mains between the facility and Swamp Creek were professionally sewer‑jetted and cleaned before being returned to service.
