Village Administrator Francis and Fire/EMS Chief Pearson told council that many EMTs and paramedics in west‑central Ohio work multiple part‑time jobs; council members said adding full‑time positions should reduce overtime and improve scheduling. Council Member Shaffer moved the authorization; Council Member Dieringer seconded, and the motion passed with all yeas (six council members present).
The council also adopted Resolution No. 25‑23, authorizing the administrator to apply for Community Parks Improvement Grant funds through the Darke County Park District. The Park Board recommended any grant dollars be used to upgrade the Indian Creek ball diamond dugouts from cement blocks to aluminum models.
Fiscal Officer Kathy Ording requested amendments to the General and Parks Funds, prompting passage of Ordinance No. 25‑25 to amend the 2025 Annual Appropriation Ordinance. Council declared the ordinance an emergency, suspended the rules, and approved it on motions and unanimous votes.
