The Village of Versailles moved forward with procurement steps for the McGreevey Road Substation, authorizing the Fiscal Officer to advertise for bids for major equipment after receiving revised 30% design drawings from GPD Group.
Resolution No. 25-44, read by title by Attorney Matt Pierron, directs advertising for bids for major substation components including the substation transformer, structural steel, bussing, switching gear, vacuum circuit breaker, reclosers, voltage regulators, relays and control panels. Village Administrator Francis told council that bids at this stage will be for major equipment only; the full labor and construction bid will be advertised at a later phase.
Francis stated the current engineers estimate at the 30% design stage is $4,104,404.00. He also said the Village will stockpile asphalt millings from the 2025 street maintenance project for use on related site work (driveway expansion for the substation and other municipal projects). The council declared the resolution an emergency, suspended the rules and approved advertising for bids unanimously.
Staff indicated next steps will include issuing the equipment advertisements, receiving vendor proposals and returning to council for construction-phase planning and budget authorization.
