At its Sept. 16 meeting the Village of Valley View Planning Board approved a series of routine sign and residential variances and considered several minor business requests.
Signage: The Board approved a pole-sign variance and final sign approval for Pillar Storage at 7575 Hub Pkwy after reviewing updated landscaping and an amended rendering that added a phone number. Fast Signs presented replacement signage for Hodell-Natco (7825 Hub Pkwy); the Board granted multiple area and pole-sign variances and gave overall approval conditional on a broader landscaping plan to keep addresses visible.
Residential: Homeowners John and Susan Sisler received a 10‑foot building setback variance and overall approval for a seven-foot-deep front porch at 12290 Aldersyde Dr.; the contractor was reminded to secure required building permits.
Temporary banners and other requests: Mr. Jake Streeter (applicant listed as Mr. Streeter in the record) received a conditional use permit to post a temporary banner through May 1, 2026, as a promotional sign for an anticipated May 1 opening. A request by Manny McDonald to allow ongoing vehicle sales at 5440 Warner Rd. and a banner variance both failed due to lack of motion; the Board advised Mr. McDonald he may petition Village Council for further review.
Accessory building: A 4-foot side-yard setback variance for a pole barn at 10116 Stone Rd. (owner Jason) was approved; drainage and driveway surfacing questions will be addressed during plan review. A dedication plat for Alexander Road and Hub Parkway widening was also approved.
What happens next: permit applications, landscaping plans, and building-permit submissions are required for approved items; two denied/undeveloped items may be taken to Village Council or resubmitted.
