Cabot School Board approves personnel recommendations; hires contingent on checks

Board member Joe Trusty moved to approve the personnel recommendations as presented; James Hertzog seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously with six members in favor and one member absent to approve the slate of actions.
The certified personnel listings in the meeting packet include a certified retirement (Shannon Southard, High School library/media specialist, effective Aug. 1, 2025), certified resignations (including Alexander Seman, middle/high music teacher, effective July 29, 2025), numerous transfers and reassignments across Pre-K, special education and other campuses, and certified new hires for special education and classroom roles. The minutes state that all recommendations and hiring of licensed certified personnel are contingent on completing licensure requirements and clearing criminal background checks and the child maltreatment registry.
