Cushing selectmen approve warrants, amend minutes and transfer $500 for cemetery care

The Cushing Board of Selectmen met Nov. 28 at the Cushing Community Center and carried routine business including approval of warrants, amendment and approval of prior minutes, and a small transfer for cemetery accounts.
The board approved Warrant #43 & #44 on a 5-0 vote after a motion by Selectman Daniel Staples, seconded by Martha Marchut. The minutes from the Nov. 14 meeting were approved after an amendment to note that Attorney Kristin Collins will attend the next meeting; that vote passed 3-1-1, with Selectman Martha Marchut abstaining and Selectman Daniel Staples opposed.
The board entered executive session for consultation with legal counsel under 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(E) at 6:15 P.M. and returned to the public meeting at 6:47 P.M. Later the board again entered executive session at 7:34 P.M. and returned at 8:01 P.M.; both executive-session motions carried 5-0-0.
Selectman Laurie Haynes moved, seconded by Heidi Alley, to take $500 from incidentals to cover an overage in the Norton Cemetery and Ancient Cemetery accounts and for tree removal at the Ancient Cemetery; the motion carried 5-0-0. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. on a motion by Daniel Staples, seconded by Martha Marchut.
