Cushing selectmen appoint Tom LeBlond as addressing officer; reappoint town clerk as registrar

CUSHING — The Cushing selectmen on Jan. 23 unanimously appointed Tom LeBlond as the town’s Addressing Officer and reappointed Town Clerk Lisa Young as Registrar of Voters.
Chair Alton Grover moved to appoint LeBlond, and Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded the motion; the appointment passed 5-0-0 after brief discussion of LeBlond’s contributions to the Cushing School and his computer skills. The board previously approved Warrant #3 and #4 and ratified the minutes of its Jan. 9 meeting, each by 5-0-0 votes.
Town Clerk Lisa Young summarized her cash-disbursement activities and asked the board to authorize her to continue performing those duties for the year. Selectman Daniel Staples moved to allow Young to continue in that capacity; the motion carried 5-0-0. Later in the meeting, Select Board member Heidi Alley moved, seconded by Laurie Haynes, to reappoint Young as Registrar of Voters; that motion also carried 5-0-0.
The board signed a notice of election related to a Feb. 28 referendum on assigning funds to schools in Regional School Unit 13 (RSU #13). The minutes record no further detail about the substance of the RSU #13 matter beyond the signing of the notice.
The board entered executive session at 7:20 P.M. to discuss a legal matter and returned at 7:40 P.M. on a motion by Dan Staples. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M. on a motion by Heidi Alley, seconded by Dan Staples.
