Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and trustees heard Building & Grounds Trustee Loretta J. Teets outline three pending expenditures: an invoice from Burke Burns & Pinelli for $3,419.50 for senior‑housing legal fees, an $11,312 estimate from Precision Electrical Services for pole lights at the Stone Park Sports & Entertainment Center, and a change request from Vision Construction for the pavilion roof. Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez then presented a separate invoice from DesignBridge Ltd. for $14,000 tied to an earlier pavilion renovation and expansion project approved July 22, 2025.
Trustee Nazario Garcia reported business‑license updates: Exotic Lashes at 3804 W. North Avenue opened Dec. 9, 2025, and Capital Pinball at 3200 W. LeMoyne Avenue received a new business license that day.
Public Works Director Jessica Ramirez briefed the board on ongoing infrastructure work: branch collections at the sports complex, a start of weekly branch chipping scheduled for Monday, March 30, repaired streetlights on the 1700 and 1800 blocks of 33rd Avenue, cleanup of North Avenue after snow melt, and completion of repairs to a broken storm sewer in the alley at the 1800 block of 43rd Avenue.
A proposed seasonal landscaping contract from Fairway Custom Landscaping, Inc. was presented and discussed. Trustee Teets asked for a show of hands to indicate preliminary support; five trustees signaled support. The board directed that the contract and quote be included on the April 14 meeting agenda for a formal vote and be made part of the official record.
On development matters, Building Commissioner Robert Gonzini said legal counsel for Mejia Property Holding LLC confirmed the developer is proceeding with acquisition of the adjacent property at 1625 N. Mannheim Road to allow an expanded frontage for a proposed grocery store project. Gonzini also reported that The Pinball Capital at 3200 W. LeMoyne Avenue installed a new door to meet safety requirements and has a tentative grand opening scheduled for next week with a stated maximum occupancy of 280.
Fire Marshal and Health Inspector Eugenio Mazzulla told the trustees that annual inspections are ongoing and that a recent complaint led inspectors to find an unlicensed nail salon operating out of a garden apartment; a separate first‑floor unit in the same building was found non‑compliant due to overcrowding. The board recorded those compliance concerns for follow up.
Director of Public Safety Chris Pavini reported that part‑time officer Rogelio Valdez, who has worked with the Stone Park Police Department for one year and has about 20 years of full‑time law enforcement experience, will be sworn in as a full‑time officer by the Fire & Police Commissioners during the meeting, as also noted by Fire & Police Commissioner Rosemary Sapoznik.
Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez moved to adjourn; Trustee Loretta J. Teets seconded. Trustees voted aye unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
The trustees scheduled formal consideration of the landscaping contract for April 14 and left pending several vendor invoices for further administrative processing and possible future approval.
