During Building & Grounds updates, Trustee Loretta J. Teets presented Fricold Heating and Cooling estimates for HVAC work at 1621 N. 39th Avenue: Estimate #35679294 for $7,447 (kitchen and restroom duct upgrades) and Estimate #35670846 for $20,568 (party room rooftop unit). Teets also presented E&D Construction Inc. Invoice #0309 for $3,000 for pavilion masonry renovations (cutting three doors and sealing an existing opening). Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla described the rooftop HVAC units as additional units needed for the ongoing pavilion extension and noted Fricold is a local firm that currently manages municipal HVAC services.
Mayor Mazzulla invited Trustees to a site walkthrough at 5:00 p.m. on March 24 to inspect pavilion progress before the next Board meeting. No formal vote on the invoices or estimates is recorded in the committee minutes; Gutierrez asked the Board to consider approval during tonight’s proceedings.
The pavilion work, as described by Finance, covers foundation, roof and additions under Grant SD250563. Trustees heard that alternative masonry quotes averaged $8,000–$9,000, making the presented $3,000 invoice comparatively lower. The minutes do not show final approvals or amended motions on the record; those decisions may appear in the March 24 Board meeting minutes.
