Williams County approves $16,644 preventive maintenance contract for EMS Stryker equipment

Williams County commissioners voted April 23 to approve a one-year preventative-maintenance agreement with Stryker covering a package of EMS equipment. The board adopted Resolution 26-0206 to enter into a preventative maintenance agreement for Stryker devices, not to exceed $16,644.21 for the contract term of Jan. 1, 2026through Dec. 31, 2026.
Anne Retcher, the county clerk, read the motion and the board carried the resolution by roll call after discussion clarified the contract was preventative maintenance rather than an extended warranty. Commissioner Bartley E. Westfall moved the resolution and Commissioner Terry N. Rummel seconded; all commissioners voted to approve the agreement.
The contract line items listed annual service for cardiac monitors (LifePAK units), manual cots, stair chairs, Power-Load systems, Power-Pro devices and LUCAS mechanical compressors. The quote attached to the meeting packet lists specific serial numbers and an annual ProCare total of $16,644.21.
The board's vote authorizes county staff to execute the agreement and place a copy in EMS records. A county staff member noted Stryker had called on bid-opening procedures for another project and that county staff would take steps to ensure procurement and inspection work followed established procedures going forward.
Next steps: the signed contract will be filed with EMS and the county will schedule preventative service visits with Stryker per contract terms.
