Waynesville public works committee hears updates on Well No. 8, Franklin Road and Fourth Street bid schedule

The Village of Waynesville Public Works Committee met July 7 and received updates on water-system repairs and street projects, approved the previous meeting minutes and adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
Committee members were told that Well No. 8 had been pulling water slowly. Staff reported that the well pump was removed and rebuilt and that a nitrogen blast was performed; staff said those actions have allowed the well to pull roughly twice as much water as before, though the committee did not specify baseline production volumes.
The committee also heard that Smith Corp is finishing installation and concrete work for curbs, basins and sidewalks along Franklin Road and that repaving is scheduled soon. No contract amount or repaving date was provided during the update.
Chief Gary Copeland completed paperwork to apply for Ohio Public Works Committee (OPWC) funding for Fourth Street. The committee was told the OPWC grant funds for Fourth Street have been approved and released by the state; staff said bids for the Fourth Street project will be accepted from July 8 through July 24 and that Choice One prepared the bid packets.
Procedurally, the committee approved the previous meeting minutes on a motion by Mr. Brian Blankenship, seconded by Mr. Lyle Anthony. The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
