Waynesville manager reports Well 8 rehab complete; OPWC funding released for Fourth Street

Village Manager and Director of Public Safety Gary Copeland reported several municipal infrastructure updates during the July 7 Village Council meeting.
Copeland said Moody's completed rehabilitation on Well 8 with a new pump and screen and noted the well was cleaned with a nitro blast; he said the rehabilitation should increase flow and that new gallons-per-minute figures will be available at the next meeting.
Copeland also said contractor SmithCorp had run into issues, including rain delays, that have postponed planned repaving. He reported that the village received notice that Ohio Public Works Commission funding for the Fourth Street project has been released and that bids will be accepted until July 24.
The retaining wall at LCNB is nearly complete and has been monitored, Copeland said. He added that the permit for the Sauerkraut Festival was approved and that a police contract to support the festival is in place. Copeland also announced that the Warren County Veterans' appreciation luncheon will be held August 2 at Hidden Valley Orchards.
No formal ordinances or project approvals were taken in open session beyond the updates and the invitation to bidders for the OPWC-funded Fourth Street work. Council will receive updated flow rates for Well 8 at a future meeting.
