The Select Board on June 15 ratified a series of personnel appointments and reappointments and adopted its FY27 goals.
Among the personnel actions, the board ratified the town administrator’s appointment of Austin Merkin as a seasonal DPW summer worker (effective July 1 pending a physical) and approved Susan Sarnney as the school human resources generalist effective July 1. The board, sitting jointly with the planning board, appointed Casmir Purowski to fill the remainder of a planning-board term through May 2027. The board also appointed Nancy Snow to the Council on Aging (term through June 30, 2029) and later appointed Derek Sausnowski as a Community Preservation Committee member at large through June 30, 2027.
Select Board members moved and seconded a multi-page list of reappointments for various town boards and committees; the list was adopted unanimously. The board assigned liaison roles to select-board members (for example, Ellen Rosenfeld as liaison to the energy and cemetery committees) and discussed placing the economic development committee on hiatus until a new master plan is available.
After discussion about transparency and website postings, the board voted to accept the Select Board’s FY27 goals as presented. The goals include maintaining the budget split between schools and municipal departments, advancing road and sidewalk projects, pursuing sewer capacity, continuing regional partnerships for services, digitizing records, and improving external communications and public access to agendas.
