The Barry County Board of Commissioners on June 9 approved prepaid invoices totaling $4,375,845.14, authorized $113,275.04 in claims and $343.66 in commissioner mileage reimbursements, and completed a slate of appointments to county advisory boards.
The actions came in a broadly unanimous series of votes. County commissioners moved and seconded each of the items during the Items for Consideration portion of the meeting and recorded no nays.
Why it matters: The prepaid invoice total includes vendor payments and operating costs that will be drawn from county funds; the insurance renewal preserves county coverage for liability, vehicle physical damage, property and crime for the 2026–27 policy year. The appointments fill vacancies on planning, mental health, veterans and zoning panels that advise county decision-making.
