The board approved a Bowden Fence estimate to repair and extend fencing after an auto accident and add a gate at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery expansion for $5,565.16. Trustees also approved adding granite base trim to the Veterans Memorial ($2,700 through Modlich Monument Company) and granted an exception for a 72-inch (6-foot) headstone drawing to be placed in Section B, Lot 118 for Joseph and Denise Parrish.
Trustees approved purchasing four Motorola radios for snowplow trucks using ARPA funds (total $12,966.72, including installation and channel costs) to keep cell phones out of drivers’ hands and to provide radio access across city and county systems. The motion passed with Buck voting No, Earman and Roberts voting Yes.
The board approved multiple grave buybacks and hired seasonal road and cemetery laborers for spring work. It also approved a landscaping contract with Waugh’s Landscape Maintenance totaling $17,660 (SSB portions split with the City of Hilliard) and additional pesticide/herbicide/fertilizer purchases through Helena Agri-Enterprises for turf maintenance. Cemetery Sexton Robbie Thomas told the board he expects to request seasonal help tied to a cemetery expansion.
The minutes record that the township will explore selling some surplus fitness equipment on GovDeals and, if unsold, consider donations to schools.
