Administrator Jamie Fisher asked the board to approve an agreement with SarahAnn’s Learning Unlimited to allow site work, and trustees approved Alternate #1 for the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Expansion to relocate the Veterans Memorial. Following later discussion, trustees approved Change Order #3 for the expansion to increase the Alternate #1 cost to $37,770 (motion passed). The board also approved bridge signs, flagpole accessories, bronze dedication plaques and scatter garden plaques and authorized the cemetery brochure to include scattering fees and plates and program information.
Trustees agreed to hold a dedication ceremony for the Wesley Chapel Cemetery expansion on June 25, 2021. During a May 19 walkthrough with Builderscape, trustees and contractors reviewed a punch list—power-washing the columbariums and memorial before Memorial Day, regrading and reseeding low areas, refastening a bridge and removing large rocks and debris from the creek—and Builderscape committed crews to address the items.
Why it matters: the expansion creates additional cemetery capacity and new programming for scattering gardens and a children’s memory garden; the trustees authorized purchasing memorial hardware and finishing work to complete the project.
Votes and approvals: SarahAnn's agreement, Alternate #1 for relocation of Veterans Memorial and subsequent Change Order #3 were approved by recorded votes; multiple ancillary purchases (plaques, signs, flagpole accessories) were approved as budgeted capital items.
