Mrs. Miles said the general fund has supplemented the police levy for the past three years.
The trustees directed Mrs. Fisher to send the formal request to the City of Hilliard. The minutes note that trustees discussed alternatives, including returning to coverage by the Franklin County Sheriff, and that any levy decision remains months away: the board has until August to place a levy on the ballot.
At the April meeting, Hilliard Police Chief Eric Grile delivered the Division of Police’s quarterly report and announced his upcoming retirement; trustees thanked him for his service. No contractual commitments beyond the request to Hilliard were recorded in the minutes.
