Village Administrator Joe Allen updated the council Monday on several infrastructure and permitting items, and Mayor Aaron Thomas outlined outreach plans for a proposed safety services building.
Allen said the contractor on the U.S. 23 project "has hit a snag" but staff expect work to resume this week. He reported the water-plant pump issue is nearly resolved and that bids for flow-equalization work at the wastewater treatment plant will be opened at the next council meeting. Allen also confirmed the village received zoning permits and fees for the previously discussed AutoZone site.
Mayor Aaron Thomas said he, Administrator Joe Allen and Fiscal Officer Alisha Burke will meet April 10 with Jim Deal and Colt Cline from Harrison Township and Ray DiRossi, who heads a senate budget committee, to seek support for a new safety services building. Thomas also asked council to consider tree planting around the walking path and to prepare to revisit that topic in spring.
