Greensboro activates orange‑flag heat alerts; overnight cooling center hours announced

Plibon said the Greensboro Community Safety Department operates orange‑flag cooling centers overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at the Interactive Resource Center, 407 East Washington Street, and noted that daytime cooling stations operate independently of orange‑flag status. For more information, she directed listeners to greensboro‑nc.gov/coolingcenters.
City officials did not announce additional new locations or extended daytime hours in the broadcast. Listeners were encouraged to consult the city website for the most current list of cooling locations, hours, and any eligibility or registration details.
