Chebeague Island School accepts administrative assistant resignation; two teachers approved for second‑year contracts

The Chebeague Island School Committee on April 23 accepted the resignation of Administrative Assistant Christin Nadeau and approved two second‑year probationary teaching contracts.
Superintendent Ann Kirkpatrick read Nadeau's resignation letter and the committee accepted it "with regret and thanks for Christin's commitment to the safety and attention to the students and staff of CIS," Kirkpatrick said. Kirkpatrick told the committee she is coordinating a transition with Aaron Townsend to ensure continuity in administrative duties.
On personnel actions, Kirkpatrick recommended that Lead Teacher Mary Train be offered a second‑year probationary teaching contract; Chair Elizabeth Doughty moved to authorize the superintendent to make the offer, Geoff Summa seconded, and the motion passed 4-0-0. Doughty made the same motion for Heidi Donnelly and Summa seconded; that motion also passed 4-0-0.
The committee recorded gratitude to Christin Nadeau for her service and noted next steps for staffing and transition planning were underway.
