Select Board confirms ballot clerks, code enforcement appointments and signs two engagement letters

At its June 18 meeting the Acton Select Board approved multiple appointments through June 30, 2026, granted a one‑day liquor license, and authorized two engagement letters.

Tom McGurty moved and David Winchell Jr. seconded a motion to appoint a slate of ballot clerks (Jeanette Bearse, Gail Boisvert, Bernard Broder, Sheila Conway, Bevin Corbin, Deborah Caruso, Virginia DeBoer, Cheryl Drisko, Estelle Gore, Tammy Krampetz, Daniel Krampetz, Richard Nass, Don Van Sinderen, and Virginia Shea). The motion carried unanimously.

The board also voted to appoint Jason Sevigny as Code Enforcement Officer/E911/Local Plumbing Inspector and David Riley as Deputy Code Enforcement Officer/Deputy E911/Deputy Local Plumbing Inspector. Victoria Erickson was appointed Health Officer and Steve Bodkin was appointed Forester; the Mary Grant Committee membership was confirmed as listed in meeting materials.

Select Board member David Winchell Jr. moved to approve a one‑day liquor license for Atwater Holdings to serve alcohol at a wedding on June 21 at the Everly; Tom McGurty seconded and the motion passed.

The board approved engagement letters: it voted to engage Drummond Woodsum as secondary counsel for Code Enforcement matters and to retain North Star Planning as a consultant to the Code Enforcement office at the rates presented. The Town Administrator explained the reason for the legal engagement and confirmed North Star’s rates matched their standard terms.

There was no recorded opposition to any of the appointment motions or the engagement letters. The board signed the letters and the appointments are effective through June 30, 2026, unless otherwise noted.
