Acton Select Board confirms committee appointments, approves recommended fire department hire
Summary
The Select Board unanimously appointed members to the Cemetery Committee and the Mousam Dam Watershed Committee and approved the Fire Chief’s recommendation to hire Candidate A for a full‑time fire department position.
At the June 25 meeting the Acton Select Board approved several personnel actions.
On motions by Select Board member Tom McGurty, the board voted to appoint Gerald Carter, Suzanne Doyle, Blair Huff, Tracey Levasseur, Wayne Michaud and Steve Parello to the Cemetery Committee through June 30, 2026. The board also appointed Daniel Norwood, Adele Scritchfield and Lee Robator to the Mousam Dam Watershed Committee through June 30, 2027. Both motions carried with all members voting in favor.
The Fire Chief and a Select Board member interviewed candidates for a full-time fire department opening and the Fire Chief recommended "Candidate A." McGurty moved to hire Candidate A; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved routine warrants, the meeting agenda and the June 18, 2025 minutes earlier in the meeting.
