Select Board allows Sunday demo at Transfer Station, schedules mooring ordinance hearing

The Select Board on June 4 voted to allow demolition material to be collected on Sundays at the Transfer Station through Labor Day and approved distribution of a Transfer Station guideline detailing sticker and day-pass procedures.
Town Administrator Jennifer Roux said the Transfer Station is now open on Sundays through Labor Day and initially indicated demo would not be accepted on Sundays; after discussion the Select Board agreed to permit demo collection on Sundays. Roux described a new guideline the superintendent prepared to explain how to obtain a sticker, rules for renters and camp properties, and procedures for contract haulers. The board also noted an ad will be posted for summer help at the Transfer Station effective July 1.
On the mooring ordinance, legal counsel recommended rescinding the current ordinance or substantially amending it to incorporate a permitting model. Select Board member Tom McGurty suggested convening lake associations and other interested parties for public input; the board proposed holding a public hearing on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 to solicit those views.
Adele Scritchfield asked about differences between sheriff contract figures and about sharing more complete monthly call logs; Roux said the sheriff provides both a notable-events summary and a full call log, and the board had not published the fuller log previously. The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
