District reports hiring push, special-education hires and paid curriculum work for new math standards

District administrators updated the board on staffing and curriculum work during the administrative-reports portion of the meeting.

Mr. Bowler reported he is completing required end-of-year state reports and has secured at least one long-term substitute, with two more nearly finalized. A second administrative speaker (transcribed as 'Mr. WS room') and Nathan said the district will recruit roughly four to six special-education paraprofessionals for the coming year and has hired a special-education teacher who holds appropriate licensure.

Administrators also noted the board approved paying teachers for 20 hours of curriculum work to align instruction to new math standards; staff said this work is intended to update lesson plans and ensure alignment with what state tests assess.
