A public hearing on the budget and millage had been published in the Lansing State Journal on May 18, 2026; Mayor Pro-Tem Hunsaker opened the hearing at 7:03 p.m., and, with no public comment, the hearing closed at 7:04 p.m. The council's roll call listed Hunsaker, Whitman, Donohue, Landgraf and Kellogg as present, with Mayor Sue Leeming and Councilmember VanDyke excused.
