Wawa project manager Michael Spiegel and Wawa attorney Ellen Freeman presented testimony during the hearing. Board members took no additional questions from Wawa’s testimony; one resident inquired whether a child could sit with an adult consuming alcohol at a Wawa location. A board member noted the same on-site consumption rules that apply to restaurants would apply to Wawa.
After the hearing closed, the board voted to adopt Resolution No. 2022-23 by a 5-0 vote, recording municipal approval of the license transfer. The public hearing record and the board’s vote complete the township’s municipal approval step; the license transfer remains subject to any further intermunicipal or state-level approvals required under Pennsylvania law and by the relevant licensing authorities.
