Gabe McPhail told the board she had pursued a DOT grant to help pay for the parking-lot portion of the downtown project and that, when finalizing the application, staff identified the need for an additional $11,740 from the Harbor Reserve as the local match. Pam Alley moved to appropriate the amount; the motion was seconded by Leslie Dyer and carried unanimously.
Town staff said both ramps will be rebuilt in sections so at least one ramp remains available for launching during construction and that the contractor’s schedule will depend on tidal conditions. The board’s appropriation covers only the local match for the parking portion of the project; overall project funding and schedules were not further specified at the meeting.
The appropriation is recorded as coming from the Harbor Reserve and will be applied to the grant match when the DOT application is finalized. The Selectmen did not specify a timeline beyond the contractor’s phased work plan and tidal constraints.
