Friends of the Bridger-Teton reports ambassador activity; group proposes two dedicated ambassadors for Star Valley Ranch

Representatives from Friends of the Bridger-Teton (FBTN) presented the final report for the Ambassadors for Responsible Recreation program, which the Travel and Tourism Board funded through a lodging tax grant.
Jennifer Ricupero, Partnership Manager for FBTN, and Margaret Feingold, Programs Manager, reported that ambassador Jack Robertson served the Grover Park/Star Valley Ranch area this season, working 616 hours from May through September. Ricupero said Robertson recorded 103 visitor contacts in Grover Park, documented three food-storage violations and extinguished five unattended campfires. She said Robertson joined Star Valley Ranch trail crew leader Craig Adler about six times to assist on trail work.
Ricupero told the council that while the program had successes, FBTN hopes to improve support for Star Valley Ranch next year by proposing two ambassadors dedicated to the Star Valley Ranch area rather than sharing coverage with Grover Park. She said FBTN would "work to get the best people possible if grant funding goes through next year." The mayor presented the Ride for the Brand Community Service Award to Mackey Asher during the same announcements section.
