Mendota council unanimously approves consent calendar, adds emergency vehicle purchase

Mendota’s City Council unanimously approved a multi-item consent calendar and adopted a separate street-lighting purchase during a special meeting on Oct. 29, 2024.
The consent calendar approved items including warrant payments for Oct. 8–10 totaling $331,866.21; purchase of a scoreboard for Alfredo Muratalla Baseball Field (Resolution No. 24-57); disposal of surplus property (Resolution No. 24-58); records management consulting (Resolution No. 24-59); engagement of Price Paige & Company for the annual audit (Resolution No. 24-60); cancellation of the Dec. 3, 2024 and Jan. 7, 2025 regular meetings (Resolution No. 24-61); and establishing a sole-source standard for solar-powered lighting on city streets and city-owned properties (Resolution No. 24-62). Council members also added Resolution No. 24-64, authorizing an emergency vehicle purchase for the Public Works Department from FRGM LLC, DBA Blackstone Chevrolet Cadillac, to the consent calendar before voting.
Council Member Jose Alonso moved to approve consent items 1–8; Council Member Oscar Rosales seconded. The motion passed unanimously (5 ayes).
Separately, Council adopted Resolution No. 24-63, a purchase agreement with Fonroche Lighting America for the installation of solar-powered street lighting, after a brief staff presentation and discussion (see related article).
