The council heard a multifacted public‑works update on April 15 that included the 2026 road program, traffic-signal louvers, a salt-contract resolution and authorization to acquire a used pickup truck.
Engineer and Building Official Jeff Filarski told council he will bring repair bids for the 2026 road program to the next meeting and said he expects striping to occur in spring; Filarski recommended installing louvers on the traffic signal affecting a resident at Sulfur Springs and Miles Road and estimated the cost at about $1,346 from the road fund. Councilmember Ryan Rubin moved to install the louvers (seconded by Terry Hemmelgarn); the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Council suspended the three‑reading rule and adopted Resolution 2026‑17 authorizing participation in the ODOT 2026 road salt contracts, a step the Service Director said was needed to secure supply for winter maintenance. Separately, Council adopted Ordinance 2026‑18 giving the Service Director authority to purchase a used pickup truck for up to $30,000; the subsequent budget amendment (2026‑19) set aside $30,000 to support that purchase and $12,000 for potential tree removal or right‑of‑way clearing.
Service Director Matt Maistros also asked Council to approve the salt contract at the meeting and requested residents be notified of branch pick‑up schedules; he said he plans to test hydrants in June and will inspect the Village Hall roof for possible hail damage after a council suggestion.
The minutes show plans to solicit road‑program bids, pursue louvers installation, participate in the ODOT salt procurement and proceed with the truck procurement process within the $30,000 cap; the minutes do not record final vendor selections or contract awards for road repairs or truck purchase.
