CCRPC executive committee previews February board agenda, including basin council appointments and hazard-plan consultant

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission Executive Committee on Feb. 2 reviewed a draft February board meeting agenda that will include a vote on appointees for the Basin Water Quality Councils and noted a vacancy for the Lamoille Basin seat. Executive Director Charlie Baker said the committee is still looking for a nominee for that basin.
Baker also said the State has hired a consultant for the All-Hazard Mitigation Plan draft and the committee hopes to have the consultant join the February board meeting for a discussion. He reported a public meeting on the hazard plan had been held the prior week.
The committee will also review the I‑89 2050 Study transportation demand management (TDM) results and the Transit Financing Report at the board meeting. Baker said the RPC plans to hold an in-person annual meeting at HULA in June and run the business portion of the meeting virtually as well.
Why it matters: The agenda items include appointments that affect local watershed governance and planning deliverables (hazard mitigation and corridor studies) that inform transportation and resiliency investments.
