Kettering recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month art winners and proclaims National Arts and Humanities Month

At its Oct. 28 meeting Kettering City Council showcased a video of the Hispanic Heritage Month youth art contest and announced winners across age categories. Angela Rockman, community development manager and staff liaison to the Board of Community Relations, presented the winners: Penelope Gibson (K–5), Phoenix Daily (6–12, 2D), and Llaya ShraMM (6–12, 3D). Staff thanked partners including Dayton Metro Libraries and local volunteers for supporting the contest and the children who participated.
Council also read and adopted a proclamation recognizing October 2025 as National Arts and Humanities Month and thanked cultural organizations, the Rosewood Arts Center and volunteers for contributing to the city’s cultural life. Bill Cheerart (PRCA director) accepted the proclamation and thanked council and residents for continued support of arts programming.
Council encouraged residents to visit local art displays and upcoming community arts events.
