On sewer matters the committee adopted a motion, moved by Mr. Fisher and seconded by Mr. Hogan, to amend Sewer District No. 2’s budget for UV disinfection equipment repair (approximately $31,237) and to create a capital project for the Drifting Ridge and Argyle Street pump stations with a $1,320,000 authorization. The resolution notes an RFP for engineering was awarded at $146,895 and that serial bond proceeds were authorized in 2025 to fund the project. The committee also authorized the County Treasurer’s signature on Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) documents related to PCAP financing for a process control/administration building project.
Separately, the committee amended the title‑by‑grade schedule to set Special Patrol Officer pay rates by participating school district for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027. Rates vary by school (for example, Whitehall $36.86, Hudson Falls $35.19, Fort Ann $34.61). The resolution clarifies SPO pay is set by contract with school districts, SPOs do not receive steps or annual base increases during the contract period, and the chairman was authorized to sign contracts with participating schools.
Treasurer Nolette cautioned that use of fund balance for projects such as the WQIP local match and sewer repairs will reduce available funds for other capital needs; Sewer District No. 1 was reported to be in a troubled financial condition and will be reported separately to trustees.
