The Thayne Town Council voted on Nov. 15 to approve the Lincoln County Economic Development Joint Powers Board Agreement.
Mayor A. DeLand Lainhart explained the agreement and Councilman Heward moved to approve it; Councilman Woolley seconded and the motion carried. The council did not record any opposing votes on the agreement during the meeting.
Separately, Mayor Lainhart reported the Thayne Volunteer Fire Department had received a $500 donation from Dad’s Bar and Steakhouse proceeds collected at the annual hunters’ ball. He also said the town has a potential buyer for lots 3, 4 and 5 at Cheese Factory Square (lots 4 and 5 purchased from Silver Star Communications), and that the buyer hopes to complete the purchase by year end and discussed plans that include a recreation facility, a showroom and a warehouse.
Council action on the property sale itself was not taken; future agenda items or closing steps were not specified.
