Sherri Merritt, Training Officer for the Thayne Ambulance Service, welcomed Mayor Devin Simpson and announced the service's newly elected board: Captain Delsa Bird; Co‑Captain Mal Winters; Training Officer Sherri Merritt; Secretary Tonya Taylor; and Sergeant at Arms Shanna Bird. Merritt said Lesli Dana is celebrating 10 years with Thayne Ambulance Service and that the agency will hold a valley‑wide hypothermia training for EMS, fire and search‑and‑rescue agencies.
Merritt reported the service had "between 190‑200 page outs for 2018," according to the meeting minutes.
Councilman Heward gave a recreation update: basketball programs are underway, an adult volleyball league is in the works, and 85 children are currently signed up for the Thayne Ski Club; the first ski club trip was scheduled for Jan. 11. Heward also reported the community center’s LED commercial lighting retrofit is complete; Lower Valley Energy completed its walkthrough and will send the $52,500 reimbursement check to the town.
The council did not take further action on these reports at the meeting.
