Thayne swears in mayor and new officials; council sets new meeting night and updates account signers

Mayor Devin Simpson was sworn in at the Jan. 9 Thayne Town Council meeting, where the council also swore in Councilman Joe Heward, Councilman Lee Schwab, Town Clerk Caitlin Hillstead and Municipal Judge Ronald McKim.
The council agreed to move regular meetings to the third Wednesday of each month beginning Feb. 20, 2019. Mayor Simpson asked if Councilman Joe Heward would remain mayor pro‑temp; Heward agreed, and Councilman Woolley moved to appoint him. Councilman Schwab seconded the motion, which carried.
Council members also approved administrative banking changes. Mayor Simpson asked that he be added to all town accounts and that Councilman Woolley be given signing authority on the Town of Thayne General Fund account. Councilman Heward moved the change, Councilman Woolley seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting concluded with routine motions to ratify checks and pay bills and was adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
