Marlboro County Council accepts USDA reimbursement for two sheriff vehicles

Marlboro County Council voted unanimously Tuesday to accept Rural Development grant funding that will reimburse the county up to $46,800 toward the purchase of two sheriff vehicles.
The grant totals $87,100, with $46,800 designated as a reimbursement to Marlboro County, and includes a six-month period for the county to complete the grant requirements, at which time USDA staff will visit and take photographs, Tianna McCollough, a loan specialist with USDA Rural Development, told the council. McCollough said the grant paperwork is to be executed by Chairman Anthony Woods and Clerk Susan Rivers.
"I am present to present the Letter of Conditions to Marlboro County for the purchase of two Sheriff Vehicles," McCollough said.
Councilmember Jason Steen moved to approve Resolution #09-24-01, which authorizes the county to accept the USDA Rural Development funds to be used toward two sheriff vehicles not to exceed $46,800; Councilmember Steve Blackmon seconded. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
The meeting lasted roughly 10 minutes; business concluded immediately after the vote and the council adjourned at about 10:10 a.m.
