The Henry County Planning Commission on May 13 recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve rezoning of 5003 Kings Mountain Road from Suburban Residential District S-R to Commercial District B-1.
The change was proposed to give the property owner greater flexibility to market the parcel for commercial uses beyond the historically grandfathered activities. The public hearing opened at 6:03 p.m.; the applicant, Richard Sarver, was unable to attend and no members of the public spoke on the request.
Commissioner Stuart Bowman moved to request that the Board of Supervisors approve the rezoning; Commissioner Richard Reynolds seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously with two members absent.
The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final action.
