At the April 23 meeting the Town Administrator provided a suite of operational updates. A signer was found for an old ambulance account; the signer will close the account, produce a money order, and turn the funds over to the town for deposit. The minutes note those funds were received historically as a gift.
Ambulance procurement bids have been sent, publicized on the town website and in the newspaper; the Select Board will consider those bids in roughly three weeks. The Administrator also gathered winter contracts from surrounding towns for comparison and will meet weekly to prepare a draft contract in about two weeks.
On municipal facilities and grants, the Warrant & Finance Committee reported a Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) grant approved for $68,838 (state-funded, max cap $75,000). The plan is to install mini-splits in the CEO’s office, the library, and the fire department, do spray-foam insulation under the library floor, and acquire two new refrigerators and a freezer. Board members thanked those who helped complete the grant application on a tight deadline.
The Administrator noted tax collection is largely complete for on-time payments but flagged roughly 60–75 returned checks where the payline amounts did not match the box amount; residents whose checks have not cleared were advised to contact the office.
No formal votes were taken on these operational items during the session; the ambulance bids and related procurement will return for board action.
