Councilmember Zach Hebebrand pushed for sidewalks for safety and potential future connections. Councilmember Kevin Lewis described Milford as among the busiest residential roads in the Village, with blind turns and pedestrian safety concerns. Service Superintendent Jason Walters warned that eight properties would be dramatically affected and urged Council to be sure of resident preferences before altering property access.
Council determined the contract should be awarded that evening and adopted Version 2 of the resolution (the no-sidewalk option) so the contractor could proceed. Members noted that adding sidewalks later remained possible but that Council needed to finalize any change by the April regular meeting to accommodate contractor scheduling. The motion to suspend the three-reading rule and to adopt the resolution passed by roll call vote of councilmembers present.
The contract award authorizes the mayor to enter into an agreement with Tri Mor Corporation for the Milford Drive Reconstruction Project per the terms in Resolution No. 2026-11 Version 2.
