Whiting selectmen sign warrants, review $7,263.76 door quote and plan road work

The Town of Whiting Selectboard signed warrants and approved minutes from the previous meeting at their March 11 session.
Board members reviewed a $7,263.76 quote from Down East Glass to replace a door; the minutes say Machias Glassworks will attempt to replace a couple parts and try to repair the door before moving forward with replacement.
The Selectboard also noted that Gardner’s Lake Road requires parts repaired from Prescott to East Shore Road and assigned Robert Curtis to inspect a culvert on Dodge Road to determine whether it needs replacement or unclogging. The board agreed to have copies of keys made so each selectman and the clerk will have a spare.
Janice Bronson reported on meetings she had with the GA (general assistance) program, and said she would speak with Marian about apparent inconsistencies in charges when residents of Whiting bring household trash to the dump while some other towns are not charged. The minutes do not record motions or vote tallies for these maintenance and administrative items.
