Shelbyville Central Schools board approves five-year extension to superintendent's contract

The Shelbyville Central Schools Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved an amendment to Superintendent Dr. Vance's contract that extends the term by five years, changes pay frequency from 26 to 24 pay periods and removes a now-obsolete residency/relocation clause.

Board members opened a public hearing on the proposed changes earlier in the meeting; the board stated the notice had been posted “as advised and required via the Indiana code” and that no members of the public came forward to comment. After the hearing closed, the full board moved to approve the amendment and the motion carried on a voice vote.
