The Westport Island Select Board on June 16 approved several payroll and accounts‑payable items, confirmed two local appointments and accepted the town’s annual animal shelter agreement.
The board approved payroll number 105 for $19,689.72 and payroll number 106 for $1,964.52, and accepted payroll number 107, a quarterly fire‑department payment of $12,379.75. The board also approved payroll number 109 for $21,526.92, which the minutes show was described as the final payroll for the town’s fiscal year and includes election and staff pay. The board approved the minutes of its June 2 meeting.
The board appointed Judy Pagan to serve as the town’s RSU representative after a member said Pagan attended a recent RSU meeting and has an education background. The board also appointed Trevor Harris to the property maintenance committee; a member noted Harris’s carpentry and electrical experience and said he recently moved to the island.
On the contract docket the board accepted the annual Mid Coast Humane Society agreement, which is calculated using a per‑capita rate and covers animal shelter services for the town. A board member noted the contract’s final section lists services the shelter will not provide and said the shelter has been responsive in past requests for assistance.
All actions on these routine items were taken by motion, second and voice vote.
